The major renovations to what is probably Slovenia’s most scenic golf course are now complete
The Royal Bled was always one of Europe’s most scenic places for a round of golf but the recently completed renovations have elevated the course to another level.
Led by renowned designers Swan Golf Designs, the alterations, which lasted three years, encompassed everything from the redesign of greens, tees and bunkers to no fewer than ten new lakes and the installation of a new irrigation system to keep the course in peak condition. There is also the addition of a state-of-the-art practice facility with a double-ended range and a 1,000 square metre putting green.
To ensure that the course is suitable for golfers of varying ability, each hole has a minimum of four tee positions while the designers have ensured that the design of the greens allows for creative play from the golfers.
Royal Bled has stunning views of the Julian Alps and is situated just a short drive from the capital. What’s more, it’s within easy reach of Ljubljana’s Brnik airport meaning that the keenest golfers can squeeze in a round before a mid morning flight, or can be on the fairway within an hour of arriving in Slovenia.
