New data shows highest number of real estate transactions since records started in 2007

New figures for the first half of 2017 are encouraging, showing a record number of property deals and used apartments realising a 3 percent increase, amounting to a total increase of 10 percent on 2015 prices. Though prices still haven’t reached those seen at the peak in 2008, the Surveying and Mapping Authority (GURS) is reporting favourable trends throughout the market.

Demand for new builds has been strong and no properties remain for sale at prestigious new developments in Ljubljana and Novo mesto which had previously stalled during the financial crisis.

The situation at the coast has seen used apartments in Koper increasing by 9 percent, compared with an increase in the capital of 3.4 percent and 5.6 percent in Kranj.

Another notable trend is an increase in the number of new developments, especially in Ljubljana.
