Description

Historical significance
The castle has a long and interesting history dating back to the 14th century, with its first mention recorded in 1311. It was built by the Grätzer family from Graz, and over the centuries it passed into the hands of numerous noble families and important figures. Among its best-known residents was the Slovenian writer Janez Trdina, who wrote part of his famous work "Bajke in povesti o Gorjancih" here.

Although the castle was damaged during World War II, its central medieval tower is still preserved. Restoration works were carried out in 1952 to prevent further deterioration, and although it awaits a comprehensive renovation, it still stands majestically at the foot of the picturesque Gorjanci.

Property features

  • Living area: 2.229 m², including historic rooms such as the Trdina Room, where the original Renaissance furniture is still preserved.
  • Architectural features: The castle boasts two large rectangular towers, a distinctive vaulted entrance, and preserved wooden doors made from a single piece of wood, supported by a massive pillar.
  • Land around the castle: The castle is surrounded by landscaped gardens, fruit trees, and extensive fields, on a plot measuring 12.808 m2. It is possible to purchase an additional 107.182 m2 of land. The land offers various usage options, including agricultural activity and buildable plots, providing opportunities for agricultural, recreational, or commercial use.
  • Outbuildings: In the castle courtyard there is a smaller residential house and the remains of a larger building that once served as an outbuilding.

Investment opportunity
Gracarjev Turn Castle offers an exceptional opportunity to purchase a property with a rich historical heritage. The size of the castle, its architectural significance, and the extensive land provide numerous development possibilities. The proximity of vineyards, the village of Orehovica, and the Church of St. Roch create an ideal setting for developing tourism or other business opportunities.
