Yaskawa Electric to build new robot factory in Slovenia

Yaskawa Electric which already has a small plant in Slovenia which produces roboroc cells has announced that it has chosen Slovenia as the location for a new European robot factory. The company is a specialist in robitocs and motion control technologies and is set to invest around €25 million in the new project. Slovenia was chosen ahead of Slovakia, Poland and the Czech Republic for the new factory.

Slovenia has been working closely with Japan to try to encourage foreign investments. It also looks likely that consumer electronics specialist Panasonic will increase its investment in Velenje-bsed Gorenje.
