Possible air link between Ljubljana and Dubai

Talks started to discuss possible flights between the Slovenian capital and Dubai

Reports suggest that budget carrier Flydubai is in initial discussions with Fraport, which manages operations of Ljubljana’s Jože Pučnik Airport, to launch a route between the Slovenian capital and Dubai. Although there have been ongoing efforts to secure a link between Slovenia and the Emirates, these are the first substantial talks.

Flydubai already serves Belgrade, Sarajevo and Podgorica and has an agreement with the much larger carrier Emirates, that ensures the network of the former Yugoslavia is well served with links to Dubai and its neighbours. The arrangement could be extended and optimised to better serve the region and to include Slovenia, which Emirates recognises as the strongest partner in the region.
