Specialists in wood design have been showcased at one of Europe’s most important design fairs
In conjunction with the SPIRIT, the agency which promotes investment in Slovenia, 15 wood-based designs and designers from Slovenia have been on show at the 56th Salone del Mobile Milan, the traditional furniture fair that shows the best in design.
These include the cutting edge Planica Nordic Centre, a design firm that makes stylish and innovative wooden kitchen utensils, and TRIpike, a young design agency that created the Remlshelf, a simple and stylish shelving unit that actually cleverly combines 7 shelves in one but looks more like a piece of abstract art.
The reason that SPIRIT chose to highlight designers working with wood is that the Slovenian government is focused on an action plan for making the forest-wood chain in Slovenia more competitive by 2020.
